I would head for 'secondary benefit' market research, if saving the environment is not of value 
to your customers.  Try some open ended questionnaires that probe areas of religious, health, 
economical, social benefits you might associate with your product lines.  Always easier to meet a 
need indirectly then try to change their minds about 'eco-benefits'.  Unless, of course, the 
campaign was at fault and not the perceived customer needs.
